Tax Assistance Is Here
ATLS participates in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) and the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) which, in partnership with the IRS, are designed to promote and support free tax preparation and to build financial stability for everyone in our community by:
- Saving families the cost of paying for tax preparation (on average about $250!)
- Helping working families get the tax credits they deserve
- Working to ensure eligible seniors & those with disabilities get the Missouri Property Tax Credit (also known as the Rent Rebate, MO PTC, or Circuit Breaker Credit)
- Preventing families from taking out costly loans against their own tax refund money (i.e. "Instant refund") through commercial tax preparers
